The Government of Cuba, through the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment (MINCEX), the Institute of Physical Planning (IPF), and the Ministry of Economy and Planning (MEP), with the support of the United Nations Development Program Programme (UNDP) Cuba and in partnership with the UNDP ART Initiative, are pleased to invite you to the Workshop with Decentralized Cooperation to present the new "Articulated Platform for Integrated Territorial Development in Cuba" to be held on December 9, 2014 in La Havana, Cuba.

This new Framework Programme aims to provide a flexible, innovative and viable platform that articulates the various International Cooperation actors interested in supporting sustainable territorial development in the country, both in its economic and social dimension. The platform will contribute to strengthening the capacities of local authorities for the design and management of territorial development, and will articulate the various social, economic and academic stakeholders involved in territorial development. The promotion of strategic alliances and partnerships with territorial networks will also be a key pillar of the program, as well as the promotion of exchanges of experiences and innovations through South-South and triangular cooperation.

The workshop will be the occasion to present the first actions that will be implemented in 2015 in various Cuban provinces and to facilitate a dialogue with representatives of these Cuban Provincial Governments.

Additionally, the workshop will take place in the context of the II Iberoamerican Congress on Urban Land (10-12 December), organized by the Mexiquense Collegue (Mexico), the Conurbano Institute of the National University of General Sarmiento (Argentina) and the Iberian-American Federation of Urban Planners, with the collaboration of the Master Plan for the Integral Rehabilitation of Old Havana, part of the Office of the Historian of Havana city, and the Cuban Institute of Physical Planning.
